Despite an aggression conducted by Saudi Arabia and its allies on Yemen, the Yemenis responded with intensified operations that are gradually spreading into the Saudi depth.

YemenOn the borders with Yemen, there are three areas that belong to Saudi Arabia: Jizan, Asir and Najran. They are mountainous deserted areas with low population, yet they became full of military sites, especially after the Saudi involvement on the Yemeni land.

What are these sites, and how wide are the Yemeni army and the popular committees spread in these areas? Let's start with Asir:

residential areaThe sites there are called: Qishbah, Hasan, Faya and Sahwa. These sites overlook the Saudi ar-Rabou'a city, which is a residential area with houses spread over some hills.

The four sites are located to the southern western side of ar-Rabou'a and overlook the city directly. In an operation, the Yemeni army managed to reach the closest military point there.

Saudi Shurfa siteIn the second area; Najran:
The army, along with popular committees, took control over the Shurfa military base, a mountain range that overlooks the city of Najran and the al-Makhrouk military base, which is also close to the city of Najran.

In Jizan, also some sites fell in the hands of the Yemeni army and the popular committees:

Al-Amoud, Twaileq, Mashaal, Malhama, MBC, Wadi Jara Hills, al-Fkhaitha sites, the Qawwa military complex and the nearby hills, Gharf Sheikh site, Faridha, and Fardha al-Jaberi military site, in addition to the sites of Qaryat Qamar and Qaryat Zhahira that belong to Jizan's city of al-Khouba.

These military attacks, over three days, resulted according to Yemeni sources in:

  • Destroying and damaging more than 300 military vehicle between tanks and armored vehicles
  • Seizing number of tanks, vehicles and advanced weapons
  • Killing and injuring hundreds of Saudi officers and soldiers
  • Taking number of Saudi soldiers as hostages
  • Shooting down number of helicopters and spy drones

The Yemeni military operations' success puts the back lines of Saudi military bases under the Yemeni fire. The same also applies to tens of Kilometers in the Saudi depth.
