Iran’s Envoy to IAEA: Amano Talks in Tehran

Iran’s ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna Reza Najafi said on Friday that talks of the IAEA chief Yukiya Amano with the Iranian officials were very positive and constructive.

"The two parties have reached a common understanding on resolving specific issues related to studies and research carried out in the past, taking into consideration Tehran and the IAEA position," Najafi said.

"Both parties are planning to hold a coordination meeting in the near future, to prepare a detailed list of measures to be implemented at the expert level," he added.

During his one-day visit to Tehran, Amano met President Sheikh Hassan Rouhani and the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani.

In the meeting with the president, Amano appreciated Iran's cooperation with the IAEA, saying the previous inspections have all confirmed that Iran has always honored its commitments and there has been no deviation towards military purposes in its nuclear activities.
